Quick Tips

Increase Unown’s EVs for Speed and Special Attack

Unown’s Opponent

This Path of Solitude challenge pits Unown against a level 80 Unown.

As it faces off against itself, both Pokémon have the same advantages and weaknesses. Additionally, Unown can only learn and know Hidden Power.

Recommendations & Advantages

Since both Pokémon will use Hidden Power it becomes a battle of who is quicker and stronger. Increasing Effort Levels for Speed, HP, Special Defense, and/or Special Attack will assist in this challenge. While not all of these effort levels need to be increased, one or two of them will change the tide of the battle.

Other recommendations include:

  • Level up your Unown to Level 80 or above to ether match or out-level Unown.
    • This is recommended if Unown struggles against its opponent despite other suggestions.
  • Increase of Effort Values (EVs) for Speed and Special Attack.
    • Leveling speed ensures Unown can attack quickly and get the first attack in the battle.
    • Increasing Special Attack can allow Unown to attack for more damage.
    • With Grit items, you can upgrade your Effort Values. A variety of activities can be carried out in order to obtain these items, such as defeating wild Pokémon and releasing captured Pokémon.
    • Effort Values significantly increase stats when reaching an EV level of 1, 4, 7, and 10.
