Sylveon’s Path of Solitude

Quick Tips

Make sure Sylveon is level 75 or higher.

Increase Sylveon’s Effort Values for Speed, HP, and Defense.

Learn and master the Fighting-type move Rock Smash from the Training Grounds.

Sylveon’s Challenge

Sylveon goes up against a level 80 Eevee in this Path of Solitude challenge.

Eevee is a Normal-type Pokémon. Eevee is weak to Fighting-type attacks only. Additionally, it is immune to Ghost-type attacks. Luckily, Sylveon can learn a somewhat low-damage fighting-type move from Zisu at the Training Grounds.

Recommendations & Advantages

Learning and mastering the move Rock Smash will be a way to victory for Sylveon. Using a combination of agile-style and strong-style Rock Smash will be key to getting enough damage in during this challenge. Rock Smash is the only super-effective move Sylveon will have against Eevee. One benefit of using this attack is that it has a chance to lower its opponents defense, allowing for more damage to be dealt.

In addition to learning Rock Smash, increasing Effort Values (EVs) for Speed, HP, and Defense will be needed if Sylveon is at or lower than level 80. Eevee will be able to attack first without boosted Speed EVs. Increasing HP and Defense will give Sylveon more endurance against Eevee’s super-effective attacks.

Further recommendations include:

  • Level up Sylveon to at least Level 80 in order to match Eevee.
    • Unless you are looking for a challenge, you should at least match your opponent’s level.
  • Increase of Effort Values (EVs) for Speed, HP, and Defense.
    • Leveling speed ensures Sylveon can attack quickly and will attack before its opponent.
    • Increasing Defense and HP will allow it to endure attacks from Eevee.
    • With Grit items, you can upgrade your Effort Values. A variety of activities can be carried out in order to obtain these items, such as defeating wild Pokémon and releasing captured Pokémon.
    • Effort Values significantly increase stats when reaching an EV level of 1, 4, 7, and 10.
  • Master the moves learned from Zisu.
    • A mastered move can be used in both Agile-style and Strong-style which greatly helps.
