Steelix’s Path of Solitude

Quick Tips

Make sure Steelix is at least level 70.

Increase Steelix’s Effort Values for Defense and HP if needed.

Using the move Iron Head will make this challenge easier.

Steelix’s Challenge

Steelix faces a level 70 Snorlax in this Path of Solitude challenge.

Snorlax is a Normal-type Pokémon. Snorlax is weak to Fighting-type attacks. Additionally, it is immune to Ghost-type attacks. Unfortunately, Steelix cannot learn any super-effective attacks against Snorlax, although the move Iron Head deals high damage and makes this challenge fairly easy.

Recommendations & Advantages

Steelix should not have much difficulty with this challenge as long as it near Snorlax’s level. The move Stealth Rock will also come in handy by dealing damage to Snorlax each time it attacks. Snorlax will mostly use the move Outrage, which is not very effective against Steelix.

Other recommendations include:

  • Level up Steelix to at least Level 65.
    • Unless you are looking for a challenge, you should at least be near your opponent’s level.
  • Increase of Effort Values (EVs) for Speed.
    • Leveling speed ensures Steelix can attack quickly if this becomes a problem.
    • With Grit items, you can upgrade your Effort Values. A variety of activities can be carried out in order to obtain these items, such as defeating wild Pokémon and releasing captured Pokémon.
    • Effort Values significantly increase stats when reaching an EV level of 1, 4, 7, and 10.
