Magikarp’s Path of Solitude

Magikarp’s Opponent

This Path of Solitude challenge for Magikarp is against a Level 60 Electrode.

Hisuan Electrode is an electric-grass type Pokémon, making it weak against Bug, Poison, Ice, and Fire-type attacks. Unfortunately for Magikarp, it cannot learn any move besides Splash in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Magikarp will need to be able to survive two Self Destruct attacks from Hisuian Electrode in order to win the challenge.

Recommendations & Advantages

To win, Magikarp will need to have a high level, preferably above level 90. It will also need level 10 Effort Levels (EVs) for HP and Defense. Since Magikarp will not be attacking, the only way to win is through a high defense.

Other recommendations include:

  • Level up Magikarp to Level 90 or above.
    • This is recommended if it struggles against its opponent despite other suggestions.
  • Increase of Effort Values (EVs) for HP and Defense.
    • Increasing HP and Defense ensures Magikarp can survive the two Self Destruct attacks.
    • Effort Values can be upgraded using the Grit items. You can get these items by defeating wild Pokémon, releasing captured Pokémon, and other activities.
    • Effort Values significantly increase stats when reaching an EV level of 1, 4, 7, and 10.
    • Use an appropriate nature.
      • Changing Magikarp’s nature to favor HP or Defense will be helpful.
