Landorus’ Path of Solitude

Landorus’s Opponent

This Path of Solitude challenge for Landorus is against a Level 84 Rotom.

As an Electric/Water Pokémon, Wash Rotom is weak against Grass and Ground attacks. It is fortunate for Landorus that it has Earth Power and Sandsear Storm at its disposal as these moves will be super-effective.

Recommendations & Advantages

To win, Landorus will need to have a high level, preferably at or above level 84. It will also need a high amount of speed. Earth Power or Sandsear Storm will be required to use and master. Rotom can be defeated in two moves, requiring Landorus to have enough HP/Special Defense to endure a single attack.

If you start with a strong-style Earth Power or Sandsear Storm attack, Rotom may combo with a strong-style Hydro Pump, which will defeat Landorus with EV boosts. It is important to deal a good amount of damage from the first attack, but not too much.

Other recommendations include:

  • Level up Landorus to Level 84 or above.
    • This is recommended if it struggles against its opponent despite other suggestions.
  • Increase of Effort Values (EVs) for Speed and Special Defense.
    • Landorus will need to attack first in battle to win.
    • Increasing Special Defense can ensure it can survive a normal or agile-style attack.
    • Increasing EVs for HP can also help if Hydro Pump is dealing too much damage.
    • Effort Values can be upgraded using the Grit items. You can get these items by defeating wild Pokémon, releasing captured Pokémon, and other activities.
    • Effort Values significantly increase stats when reaching an EV level of 1, 4, 7, and 10.
  • Use an appropriate nature.
    • Changing Landorus’s nature to favor HP or Special Defense will be helpful.
  • Master moves learned from Zisu.
    • A mastered move can be used in both Agile-style and Strong-style.
    • Mastered moves will allow for repeat attacks without the opponent being able to get damage in.
