Kleavor’s Path of Solitude

Quick Tips

Make sure Kleavor is at least level 84.

Increase Kleavor’s Effort Values for Speed and HP.

Use both Rock Smash and Close Combat.

Kleavor’ Challenge

Kleavor faces a level 84 Goodra in this Path of Solitude challenge.

Goodra is a Steel/Dragon-type Pokémon. Goodra is weak to Ground and Fighting-type attacks. Additionally, it is resistant to Steel, Rock, Bug, Psychic, Flying, Fighting, Grass, Electric, Normal, and Water-type attacks. Furthermore, Goodra has complete immunity against Poison-type attacks. Despite Goodra having next to no weaknesses and a long list of resistance, Kleavor is able to learn the move super-effective Fighting-type move Close Combat through leveling and learn Rock Smash from the Training Grounds.

Recommendations & Advantages

Using both Close Combat and Rock smash will be needed for this battle. Making sure both moves are fully mastered will also be required, as using an agile-style Rock Smash followed by strong-style Close Combat is the easiest way to win this challenge. If these attacks are not dealing enough damage, increase Effort Values (EVs) for Attack, as both moves will receive a slight boost from this EV. Additionally, increasing EVs for both Speed and HP will be required, otherwise Goodra will be able to attack first and deal a devastating one-hit KO attack.

Rock Smash has the added benefit of sometimes lowering the opponent’s defense. Using Close Combat at the last attack is important, as this attack will lower Kleavor’s defense stats. This weakness will allow Goodra to KO Kleavor if given the chance.12

Further recommendations include:

  • Level up Kleavor to at least Level 84 in order to match Goodra.
    • Unless you are looking for a challenge, you should at least match your opponent’s level.
  • Increase of Effort Values (EVs) for Speed, HP, and Attack.
    • Leveling speed ensures Kleavor can attack quickly and will attack before its opponent.
    • Increasing HP will allow it to endure attacks from Goodra.
    • Increasing Attack will deal more damage with both Rock Smash and Close Combat.
    • With Grit items, you can upgrade your Effort Values. A variety of activities can be carried out in order to obtain these items, such as defeating wild Pokémon and releasing captured Pokémon.
    • Effort Values significantly increase stats when reaching an EV level of 1, 4, 7, and 10.
  • Master the moves learned from Zisu.
    • A mastered move can be used in both Agile-style and Strong-style.
