Growlithe’s Path of Solitude

Growlithe’s Opponent

Growlithe’s Path of Solitude challenge is against a level 83 Vulpix.

Vulpix is a pure Fire-type Pokémon. This makes it weak against Water, Rock, and Ground-type attacks. Fortunately for Growlithe, it can learn the super-effective move Rock Slide to use against Vulpix.

Recommendations & Advantages

To successfully complete this challenge, it is recommended to learn the move Rock Slide and to master it. Rock Slide should allow Growlithe to attack with crazy damage and take out Vulpix easily. Mastering the move will also be beneficial so Growlithe can attack with a normal-style Rock Slide followed by a strong-style attack.

Other recommendations include:

  • Level up Growlithe to Level 83 or above to out-level the opposing Pokémon.
    • Leveling beyond level 85 may give Growlithe a first-attack advantage.
  • Increase of Effort Values (EVs) for Speed.
    • Leveling speed ensures Growlithe can attack twice at the beginning of the battle.
    • Increasing Special Attack can allow for Growlithe to attack for more damage.
    • Effort Values can be upgraded using the Grit items. You can get these items by defeating wild Pokémon, releasing captured Pokémon, and other activities.
    • Effort Values significantly increase stats when reaching an EV level of 1, 4, 7, and 10.
  • Master the moves learned from Zisu.
    • A mastered move can be used in both Agile-style and Strong-style.
    • Mastered moves will allow for repeat attacks without the opponent being able to get damage in.
